Standard Chartered Bank deposits 140 cyber crime employees in Newark

NEWARK, N.J. — London-based Standard Chartered Bank is expanding to downtown Newark, and the good news is, it was announced that 140 new employees will be coming too.

The Bank will use the 14,000-square foot space at the 2 Gateway Center Office Tower to house its Financial Crime Compliance center. Members of The FCC team try to identify and assess risks for financial crime, and will work in concert with IT agents in the new space.

The offices originally opened in 2008 with a staff of about 250. Over the last seven years, the staff has doubled, and the recent expansion and addition of another 140 employees is expected to add to the hustle and bustle of the downtown business district.
